Mount Cotton State School’s Pedagogical Framework (The Mount Cotton Method) promotes the school’s Vision and Statement of Purpose and aims to develop a shared understanding and a common language in the school community. A common, consistent and evidence-based approach to teaching and learning is vital to ensuring that the learning outcomes for all students are maximised.

Our Non Negotiables underpin our Mount Cotton Method and are essential to improving student learning and achievement.

The gradual release of responsibility model (GRR) is the instructional model of Mount Cotton State School. It is a process devolving responsibility within the learning process from the teacher to the independence of the learner. (Fisher & Frey)

At Mount Cotton State School we strive to develop and sustain positive relationships and productive partnerships fundamental to coaching and the delivery of professional development activities.

These documents share an overview of the learning area unit plans and assessment through the delivery of the Australian Curriculum.
